So, against my better judgement, I installed a hit counter. Every piece of weblogging wisdom you can find says that if you're writing to get hits, you're doing it for the wrong reasons; hence, why have a site-counter?
Because I'm curious. The thing is more valuable for the referal data than anything else. It's a little gratifying when someone I don't know personally manages to find this by accident, and the visit lasts longer than thirty seconds or so. And, if anything, the overall quality of postage has increased over the last week (the time SiteTracker has been working), so I feel pretty good about it.
